I have downloaded the ContosoUniversity application and used -After09 version. I then ran the Test deploy and I get:

Server Error in '/' Application.

The resource cannot be found.

Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested URL: /ContosoUniversity

Looking at the IIS logs I see that it is trying to load the faviconcon, ie.

http://localhost:80/favicon.ico

The site is in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\ContosoUniversity and IIS sees that site. I believe I have followed all the steps it says in your tutorial, including installing 4.0 and setting the default app pool to v4.0 integrated. Note also that running an application via Visual Studio via F5 works.

Have you any suggestions as to waht might be wrong?

Jon Smith - Selective Analytics

PS. One other comment is that it would be useful to mention about fire walls, which I had to open up to allow a local web site to work.

Comment Posted by NafeesAbbasi

v.Goood info ..
