I would be interested to know when you would use the different approaches and pros / cons of each.  Specifically I think of forms, checkouts etc which take an action then show a thankyou page.  Often I see button click events that take the action then Response.Redirect to the thanksyou page.  What if the thankyou page (or an intermediate) using these techniques handled the action then showed error / confirmation information?

I used to add all the information in session and retrieved them from the next page. So, my question is which approach is safer, use of sessions or of the previous . Second , how many steps can you back for example. Previous.findControl(Previous.findControl("ControlNam")..). Third, is in this approach interfere with the history control.
