After many hours of trying I came to the following conclusions. I am creating a web application not a web site. Didn&#39;t seem to work with the App_Code folder so I created a new folder called DataSets. I then recreated the dataset and was then able to reference it as follows</p><p>using Reporting.DataSets.dsReportingTableAdapters;</p><p></p><p>The key was to build the solution first before adding the above line.
