There was an error generating &#39;ScaffoldingConnectionFactory&#39;. Try rebuilding your project.&quot;</p><p></p><p>I also have rebuilt the project but this error remains.</p><p></p><p>BTW - I&#39;d rather use SQLServer than the Compact version at work - and at home my ISP charges for SQLServer, so, I&#39;d prefer to test using MySQL (which is bundled free). The fix for me was to correct the placement of the connectionstring in the Web Config. I had the connectionstring outside of the opening and closing &quot;&lt;connectionStrings&gt; ... &lt;/connectionStrings&gt;&quot; tags.
