I apologize... this is weird... today, I continue on to part 3 of this tutorial... and then I notice WTH!? Now it IS showing the Green text because of the UIHint! The only thing I did was exit the IDE last night. The machine remains on all the time. So yeah... somehow or another... something got "refreshed" by re-loading the IDE I guess. I don't want to sound too critical. But I'm getting a weird result. I downloaded the starter MvcMovie project so no issues with my initial setup. I followed the step to create the DisplayTemplates in the Movies and Shared folders, and when I run it, I get a 404 \Views\Movies\DisplayTemplates\DateTime.cshtml not found. And it's there, believe me. Now when I exclude it (!) the app runs fine, picking up the Shared version. :-[ - ???

Comment Posted by John_Scanlon

I have an update - the behavior I just reported isn't consistent. To test a theory, I added a random partial view to the /Views/Movies/DisplayTemplates folder: "FluffyDateTime.cshtml." I copied the ~ code from LoudDateTime but made no other changes - no reason for this new view to be called. And sure enough, when I ran I got a 404 - /Views/Movies/DisplayTemplates/FluffyDateTime.cshtml couldn't be found. This has got to be a Cassini bug, right?
