How Do I: Localize an ASP.NET AJAX Application?

In this video we start with an overview of the localization capabilities of the standard ASP.NET framework, and then look at the localization features of the ASP.NET AJAX Extensions. We learn how we can localize text, date, and number information on the client based upon the browser’s language settings. We also learn how our AJAX application can make use of static and embedded resources back on the server.

If these only deal with client-side code, should we be setting EnableViewState="false" or does it need viewstate to remember which validation control it's wired up to after a postback?

My last comment was posted to www.asp.net/.../video-150.aspx - I'm not sure why it showed up here on video-179... could someone move it?

Chris,

Great video!  I learned alot.  Couldn't get the 2nd example with the date to work in French.  Do I need to set some kind of international date field to make this work right?  Everything else worked great.  You packed lots of great stuff into this video.

Thanks,

  Ward
